The Academic Program
Associate of Arts Degree Program - 60
Units
ICCU offers the following
disciplines or concentration areas for students desiring to
earn an Associate of Arts degree.
- Arts/General Studies
- Business
Administration
- Early Childhood Education
- Ministry and Biblical Studies
Students with an abundance of transfer credit
(in a different area of concentration) from an
accredited or approved
college or university, may be eligible for consideration in
an alternate major (i.e. real estate,
nursing, etc). Eligibility for an alternate major
will be determined by an Academic Advisor, based upon
previously completed courses, reflected in an official
transcript. This type of consideration is approved by
the Dean and is a cases by case basis.
The Associate of Arts degree
program requires each student complete a total of 60 credit
units, typically twenty 3 unit courses. This includes
42 General Education
Requirements
and 18 Elective Units. The elective courses may be selected
from the 100 and
200 level course number subjects. Electives are normally
determined by the students chosen concentration. If it
is the students desire to continue to the Baccalaureate Degree
level, the student should communicate with an Academic
Advisor for additional information in course planning. In
some cases, a
student may select 300 or 400 courses to meet the major
requirements, with
permission from their Academic Advisor. All courses taken
must be taken in
proper sequence in the event of prerequisite requirements.
The Associates of Arts
degree program is available through Distance Learning.
This type of instruction delivery is completed through: Online courses,
DVD and VHS curriculum and through Independent Study.
ICCU does not require residency for the completion of a
degree program.
